What it costs to find out
A flat $69 to find the fault. Waived when you approve the repair.
Swift Tech LLC charges a flat $69 diagnostic fee on every visit across Maryland and Virginia. It is waived in full if you approve the repair. If you decline, $69 is the total owed and there is nothing further to pay.
$69 flat diagnostic — waived in full if you approve the repair.
$ 69
Flat diagnostic fee. Waived if you approve the repair.
No “free estimate” that isn't free.
A real diagnosis takes a technician, a stocked van and an hour of proper testing. That has a cost, and a company advertising it as free is not absorbing it — it is recovering it somewhere you cannot see, which is almost always inside the repair price. Charging $69 for the diagnostic and putting it in writing up front is what keeps it from being padded in.
It also means the diagnosis is yours. Decline the repair and you still walk away knowing exactly what is wrong with the equipment, which is worth considerably more than a free guess.
-
You are told the fee before anyone is dispatched
The $69 is quoted on the phone along with the arrival window for your area. There is no trip charge on top of it and no after-hours surprise added later.
-
A technician diagnoses the actual fault
Meters, gauges and real testing until the fault is found — on the HVAC system, the appliance, or both if you need both looked at. One fee covers the visit, not the item.
-
You get the repair price in writing
The number is presented before any work begins. Nothing is started on a maybe, and nothing is started on a verbal estimate that moves once the panel is off.
-
Approve it and the fee comes off
Say yes and the full $69 is deducted from the bill. Say no and $69 is the total you owe — you keep the diagnosis and you are free to take it elsewhere.
What the $69 covers
- The visit itself — there is no separate trip charge
- Full diagnostic testing until the fault is identified
- HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance looked at on the same visit
- A written repair price before any work starts
What it does not include
- The repair itself — quoted separately, in writing, before it starts
- Parts, which are included in that written repair price
- Replacement equipment, quoted alongside the repair so you can compare
Repair prices depend on the fault and the parts, so this page does not publish a price list it would have to break. What is fixed and published is the diagnostic: $69, flat, waived on approval.

Pricing questions
- Do you charge for a diagnostic?
- Swift Tech charges a flat $69 diagnostic fee. It is waived in full if you approve the repair. If you decline the repair, $69 is the total owed and there is nothing further to pay.
- Do you offer free estimates?
- No, and deliberately so. Swift Tech charges $69 for a diagnostic and says so up front. A real diagnosis takes a technician, a stocked van and an hour of testing, and a company advertising that work as free has to recover the cost somewhere — usually inside the repair price. Charging for it separately is what keeps it from being padded in.
- When do I find out what the repair will cost?
- Before any work starts. Swift Tech diagnoses the fault, quotes the repair price in writing, and waits for your decision. No work begins on an unapproved price.
- Is the $69 charged per appliance or per visit?
- Per visit. Swift Tech repairs both HVAC systems and household appliances, so one technician can diagnose a heating or cooling system and an appliance on the same visit under the same single diagnostic fee.
